Why Do Images Disappear from a Webpage?
In learning webpage design, I encountered many problems that took lots of practice to resolve. Although, I was building web pages using Microsoft Frontpage on my home computer, I used to face lots of issues after uploading the webpage to my website.
One major problem was the disappearance of an image file from the webpage. When I created the webpage on my home computer, it looked exactly the way I planned it. Both the text and images showed on the webpage.
When I uploaded the webpage my web server space, they images showed as the letter X in the middle of a blank frame.
After lots of searches, I found out that the problem can only be fixed by modifying the HTML of the web page having the problem.
The HTML code I had to change was very simple and straight forward, when locating the code related to the image.
Whether the webpage has one or more image, you use the same method to modify the code. You just have to fix one at a time.
The rule for an image to appear correctly, is to save the images in the same directory as the webpage where the image is supposed to appear.
Whether you create a webpage on your home computer or your web server, the same rule applies.
When you upload the webpage to the web server, the website looks at the webpage an sees the image source as the hard disk of your computer. This is why it can't display it. The image source should be in the directory on the website.
Here is the solution to this problem:
Every image file on a webpage is embedded in the IMG tag, and the exact location of the image file shows as a value for the SRC attribute. For example, SRC = "image.jpg" is one of the format that an image appears in.
Correcting the SRC value, will correct the problem that causes the images to show as the letter X. The SRC tag attribute means the source location of the image file. When the webpage was designed on your home computer, the source value was your computer hard disk.
In summary, before you upload a webpage with picture, you should change the Html code of the image.
All what you need to change is the SRC value from your hard disk to your website directory.
For example: Change this code SRC="C:image.jpg" to SRC="index.html" if the webpage happens to be your home page. If the page was not the home page, you can just replace index.html with the name of the page.

Looking for a Web Design Company? Use a Web Design Directory
Your business website tells a lot about your company. A poorly designed website will have your visitors questioning the quality of your business. A well thought out elegantly designed site would instill confidence in your visitors that you are a credible business to deal with. There is a saying in advertising, "It is better to not advertise than to advertise poorly". The same holds true for web design. There are so many Web Design companies now. How do you make an educated decision on which one to choose? Like every market that is saturated, you always see ads that read, "Hire us we are the best". Well how do you know that statement is true? Wouldn't it be great if you had a resource available to you that pre-screened Web Design Companies to narrow down your choices? To answer that question, yes there is, use a Web Design directory. Web Design directories are usually run by companies in the Web Design Industry. Using their knowledge to pre-screen the Web Design companies that submit their contact information to the directory insures that only quality Web Design Companies are listed. Most Web Design directories are categorized by region. Some use states, some use countries all in hopes of making your search that much easier. If you live in Alabama then you simply click the link that reads, "Alabama Web Design". Some Web Design directories will also allow you the customer to submit a quote request. Then they take your information and forward it to Web Design Companies that meet your criteria. This can be very helpful, as it eases the process of finding the perfect Web Design Company for your project. Along with a directory of different Web Design Companies, you may also find helpful articles to educate yourself, and help make the decision process a little easier. Look for articles that answer your questions, "What is PHP", or "How do colors affect your visitors' experience". Articles like these can give you a little incite as to what makes up a high quality website. Your business website is very important to help strengthen your image. It is often the first impression a potential customer will have about your company. Using a Web Design directory can ensure your visitors have a positive first impression that causes them to contact you to do business.

Web Page Building for Beginners 4
Page ranking by search engines such as Google are not only overrated but unusually explained by "experts" in the SEO field. SEO stands for search engine optimization and is needed to get your website placed at the top of a web search. I have no truck with someone wanting to get their pages placed in the number one or two spot from a search, but page ranking has nothing to do with that whatsoever and I can assure the reader that I can prove this to anyone with a computer. In fact, if you will just do a search for "writing critic" you will find www.homewriters.com near the top and since I own that site, I can explain to everyone how it got there and why. But at one time, I had four out of the top five spots on Google for this very same search. And by the way, my pages had no rank at all when they were first placed in the top positions by Google and Yahoo!
